Morning vs Evening Routines
Complete AM and PM K-beauty routines, a quick morning shortcut, and where face yoga fits into each part of the day.

Korean skincare draws a clear line between morning and evening routines because the two serve fundamentally different purposes. Your morning routine protects, preparing skin to face UV exposure, environmental stress, and whatever the day brings. Your evening routine repairs, clearing the day's buildup and creating the optimal conditions for your skin to heal and regenerate while you sleep.
The Morning Routine
The morning routine is about efficiency and protection. You want to hydrate, treat lightly, and seal with sun protection in a sequence that layers well under makeup or stands on its own.
- Gentle cleanser. A mild water-based cleanser is usually enough in the morning since your skin was thoroughly cleaned the night before. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
- Toner. Apply a hydrating toner to rebalance pH and deliver the first layer of moisture. Pat gently with your palms.
- Essence or lightweight serum. Choose a hydrating or antioxidant-focused product for daytime. Vitamin C serums work well in the morning because they add a layer of environmental protection.
- Eye cream. Tap a small amount around the orbital bone to address puffiness and protect the delicate skin.
- Moisturizer. A lightweight emulsion or gel cream keeps skin hydrated without heaviness under sunscreen.
- Sunscreen. Apply generously as the final skincare step. This is the most important product of your morning routine.
The Evening Routine
The evening routine is longer and more treatment-focused. This is when you remove the day, deliver your most active ingredients, and give your skin everything it needs to repair overnight.
- Double cleanse. Start with an oil cleanser to dissolve sunscreen and makeup, then follow with a water-based cleanser.
- Toner. Apply in two or three layers if your skin feels dry. The evening is the time to be generous with hydration.
- Essence, serum, and treatments. This is where your targeted actives go. Retinol, exfoliating acids, or intensive serums are best used at night when the skin is repairing.
- Eye cream. Apply the same way as morning but consider a richer formula for overnight repair.
- Moisturizer or sleeping pack. Use a richer cream than your morning moisturizer. On especially dry nights, top with a sleeping pack as the final seal.

The Quick Morning Option
On rushed mornings, a three-step minimum keeps your skin protected without sacrificing the essentials. Cleanse with water or micellar water, apply a moisturizer with built-in hydrating ingredients, and finish with sunscreen. You can always do the full routine on evenings and weekends while keeping weekday mornings streamlined.
Where Face Yoga Fits
Morning face yoga through Yasmine works as an energizing complement to your AM routine. A quick session after applying your first hydrating layer boosts circulation, reduces overnight puffiness, and gives your skin a natural flush that reduces how much product you need. In the evening, gentle face yoga before your treatment steps helps release the tension accumulated during the day and encourages lymphatic drainage. Both become natural parts of the routine rather than separate obligations.
