Anti-Aging
Your Anti-Aging Routine: 30s
Upgrade your routine in your 30s by adding targeted treatments while keeping prevention at the core.

Your 30s mark a shift in how you approach skincare. Prevention is still essential, but this decade calls for something more: targeted treatments that address the early signs of aging you can now see in the mirror. The good news is that your skin responds well to these additions, and a structured routine makes a real difference over time.
The 30s Shift
In your 20s, the focus was largely on building good habits and protecting what you had. In your 30s, collagen production slows, cell turnover takes longer, and fine lines start to settle in new ways. The response is not to overhaul everything at once but to add a few well-chosen treatments to a foundation that is already working.
Morning Routine
The morning routine builds a protective shield for the day ahead. Antioxidant protection becomes a non-negotiable step, layered beneath SPF to defend against environmental damage.
- Cleanse. Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser to remove overnight buildup without stripping the barrier.
- Antioxidant serum and eye cream. Apply a vitamin C serum to support collagen and brighten tone, then pat a targeted eye cream around the orbital bone with your ring finger.
- Moisturize and protect. Lock in hydration with a moisturizer suited to your skin type, then apply broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher as the final step.
Evening Routine
Evening is when repair happens. This is the time to introduce retinoids, the most evidence-backed ingredients for addressing fine lines and slower cell turnover. If you are new to retinoids, start at the lowest available concentration and use it two nights a week before building frequency.
- Double cleanse. Remove SPF and daily buildup with a cleansing balm or oil, followed by your regular gentle cleanser.
- Apply retinoid. Use a pea-sized amount on dry skin. Buffering between layers of moisturizer can reduce sensitivity while you build tolerance.
- Hydrate and seal. Layer a peptide or hyaluronic acid serum, then follow with a richer night moisturizer to support overnight barrier repair.

Weekly Additions and Face Yoga
Two targeted weekly steps improve texture and resilience over time. On non-retinoid nights, a low-concentration AHA exfoliant once or twice a week removes dead cells and supports an even tone. A hydrating mask once a week helps when skin feels tight or depleted.
- Face yoga two to three times a week helps target early volume shifts in the cheeks and jawline and builds muscle tone that carries into the decades ahead
- Oily skin benefits from lightweight gel moisturizers and oil-free serums, while dry or sensitive skin does better with cream cleansers and added facial oil in the evenings
- Signs your routine needs an upgrade include skin that feels dry even after moisturizer, fine lines that look more pronounced by midday, or tone that looks noticeably duller than before
